I love making sunburst/starburst cards. These three are made with scraps from another project. These types of cards are great for using up scraps.
Here's my quick instructions if you want to try one:
1.Cut 4 strips of patterned paper to 4 x 1½ OR
– make them longer and or wider (to give more coverage)…the choices are yours!
the above strips diagonally…for example, from the upper left corner to the
lower right corner.OK, so now you have
8 long triangular pieces of patterned paper.
the edges of your triangles.(Some folks
don’t, but I like them sponged.)
a 5 ¼ x 3 piece of cardstock.Lay out
your triangles over it to a pattern you like – they can hang over the edges of
the card stock as they will get trimmed later, then set the triangles aside in
the order you laid them out. Now you can
completely cover that piece of card stock with adhesive (Tape runner works
better than a glue stick.Guess you could
use a tacky glue…I haven’t tried that.).
placing your triangles back on the card stock – starting with the 2 pieces in
the center then working to the sides.Once covered, trim off edges (I use scissors). Then sponge all the way around the outer edge.
the above piece to another piece of card stock 5 ¼ x 4.
a coordinating ribbon, then adhere all to your card base.
whatever you want to the front where it looks like the points of the
starburst are coming together.I used a
stamped, die cut pieces of card stock.
