This is one of my older designs. I believe this was my card at a Shoe Box Swap back in the day. I was on a big doily kick. I like to say, I was doilies when doilies weren't cool. Now they are popular to craft with. I still like making cards with doilies, I just haven't made as many lately.

Published: Day Wasted?
A day without paper, ink and stamps is a day wasted. Stampers, don't you love that sentiment? It's by There She Goes Clear Stamps.

I Want a Hippoppotamus for Christmas!
Sing it with me...
"I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles
No rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too"
I love hearing that song this time of year :)
Now back to our regularly-scheduled programming...
I saw this non-Christmas stamp (Stampendous! V271 Hippo Cycle) and knew I had to make a card for my friend Jane with it. (From a recent adventure with her, I learned that she likes to count hippopotamuses...she'll know what I mean...LOL). I Christmas-tized the image by adding a Santa hat sticker and using Liquid Applique on the had and umbrella.
Other supplises used:
Red and White Cardstock
Christmas Embossing Folder
Heat Gun
Copic Markers
Tuxedo Black Momento Ink
Green Ink Pad
Sentiment - Clear Dollar Stamps "Deer Wishes"
Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles
Christmas Designer Paper
Stampin' Up! Punches - Modern Label and Word Window

Cigar Box 30 - Cupcakes
I bought enough of this line of paper to make 2 altered cigar boxes. However, I didn't save the piece of paper that says who made this paper...oh well.
See matching Cigar Box 31.

Cigar Box 29 - Music
Altered Cigar Box #29 is made with Moxie's "Musically Inclined" paper line.
I believe I picked up this paper in Gettysburg at Forevermore Scrapbooks during the 2012 Buggies & Buds Shop Hop.

Published in Just Cards! Holidays
I love getting that big white envelope from Scott Publications :)
My card is on Page 70 - in the Halloween Cards! section.
The image and verse are from D.R.S. Designs. The verse reads: "Women are like Angels and when someone breaks their wings they simply continue to fly...... on a broomstick. They are flexible like that!"
This card is so me.

Westie Note Card Trio
I had colored several of these images with Copic Markers quite a while ago. I finally got around to doing something with them.
I think I may donate them to Maryland Westie Rescue :)

Farewell to a Friend
My friend Amanda's family is military, and they are transferring far away. A bunch of us got together and each made her a farewell card representive of ourself. The cards were presented to her at a farewell lunch gathering. We hope when she looks at each card, she will think of us and smile.
This is my card. It is representive of all my years of having Westies and being involved in Westie Rescue.
I am really going to miss her. Farewell my friend :(
The image is "Looking Chic" by Stampavie and colored with Copic Markers.

Happiness Fairy
This is my 2nd attempt at the dryer sheet technique. Mostly I've seen the dryer sheet technique used on winter cards...over trees or snowflakes. I decided to give it a try on something different because I thought the sentiment on this card made it perfect. It's hard to tell from the photo, but there is glitter all over the card - embedded in the dryer sheet.
To be honest, the technique works better with the trees :)
Nevertheless, I love the image and sentiment from Crakerbox Palace.

May All Your Dreams Come True
This was my card at a recent Shoe Box Swap (that I could not attend...but I sent my kits). Totally CASEd from some kits created by Chiaki Haverstick.
Easy to make.
1. Stamp sentiment on 4' x 5 1/4' white cardstock and adhere to card base.
2. Adhere 3 1/4' square designer paper to card front.
3. Pop Dot 3" embossed white square - punched in the center with the Stampin' Up! Blossom Punch.
4. Snip flower petals all the way around (SU! 3/4' and 1 1/4' Scalloped Circle Punches), adhere together, then adhere to card front as shown.
6. Adhere button/twine to center of flower.

Puppy Paw Sympathy
I made this sympathy card for my awesome Vet (although I'm petless at the moment), who is also a friend. Her dear companion of many, many years, Calvin, has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs to you Dr. Daher.
The stamp set used is Papertrey Ink's "With Sympathy: Loss of a Pet Mini Stamp Set." Embossing Folder is "Cuttlebug® A2 Tiny Bubble Emboss Folder."
Then, I made another version for another friend who also had to send her beloved companion, Breaker, to the Rainbow Bridge. It just never gets any easier.
Front verse is from Raisin Boat "Paws to Remember" stamp set.

Dryer Sheet Technique
I totally CASEd this from the blog Stamp With Tami. You can find a video tutorial there too!
I've been wanting to try the dryer sheet technique, and it really is pretty. The photo does not do it justice. Seriously.

Cigar Box 27 - Baltimore Orioles
I finally had a chance to complete this Baltimore Oriole altered cigar box. It goes with the Baltimore Ravens box I did a few months ago. (I wish the bling photographed better.)
The custom Orioles designer paper was obtained from Photo Scraps in Eldersburg, MD.

When life throws you scraps, make a quilt (card).
It's amazing what you find when you start cleaning your craft area.
I made some quilt card squares waaaaay back in 2011. I posted one card I made for a challenge...you can see it here. I now remember I had made several squares. These two never were made into cards...until now.
Sentiment is from Gourmet Rubber Stamps "Vintage Verses."
For directions on how to make the quilt squares, here is the link to a great tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.

What Characters! - Published
It never gets old :)
Not my favorite card, but they wanted Halloween themed cards. I don't do a lot of Halloween cards, so this is what they got on a short deadline (yes, I procrastinated).

Cigar Box #20 - Steampunk - Published!
I've been waiting all year to share these creations - but I needed to wait until the publication came out! Here it is! First time one of my cigar boxes made it into a magazine :)
When Scott Publications put out the call for submissions for their upcoming issue of "Just Steampunk," I had to do some reasearch to figure out what exactly is "Steampunk." I gotta tell you...it's strange! Nevertheless, I was game. The box looks much cooler in person.
All paper used is from the Hot Off The Press Steampunk Paper Pack. The gears used on top of the box are from Forum Novelties Steampunk Bag of Gears.
So, then I made some coordinating cards out of the scrap paper leftover from the cigar box. I just love the startburst cards for using scraps.
This card is actually a shaker card. It's hard to see, but I used the packaging from a pack of brads or something - can't remember what was originally encased. The shaker contains little gears, etc., (Lisa Pavelko Steampunk Micro Elements).
And here is the magazine! My cigar box is on Page 62, and my cards are on Page 96.
Enjoy!
